Central Phoenix shooting leaves one dead

Phoenix police responded to the area of 24th and Van Buren streets on Tuesday afternoon for reports of an injured person.

A shooting in Phoenix left one man dead, police say.

PHOENIX — A man is dead following a shooting in central Phoenix, the city's police department said.

The Phoenix Police Department was called to the area of 24th and Van Buren streets around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday for an injured person.

When police officers got to the area, they found a man with at least one gunshot wound. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He's been identified as 44-year-old Anthony Garrison.

Police told 12News there have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
