PEORIA, Ariz. — A motorcyclist is dead following a crash in Peoria, police said.

Peoria police and fire-medical responded to a crash near 99th and Northern avenues in Peoria on Friday evening. The crash involved a motorcycle and a Chevrolet Silverado, police said.

The driver of the car was turning left into a shopping mall from 99th Avenue and hit the motorcycle, which was heading north on 99th Avenue, police said.

The motorcyclist had significant injuries and was transported to a hospital, but died from his injuries. The motorcyclist was later identified as 44-year-old Aaron Allen from Peoria, police said.

The driver of the car was not injured and remained at the scene during the investigation. While the intersection where the crash occurred was closed for several hours, it is now open.

Police said there is no indication that impairment was not a factor in the crash. The driver of the car was not identified and police said “no arrests have been made and no citations have been issued.”
