PHOENIX — A teenager is dead following an accident involving a motorcycle and a vehicle in north Phoenix, police said.
Phoenix police officers responded to the area near Cave Creek and Nisbet roads on Saturday around 5:30 p.m. regarding a crash involving a motorcycle. When officers arrived, they found a man, identified as 19-year-old Matthew Allen-Winchester, with serious injuries.
Allen-Winchester was transported to a local hospital, but he did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead, police said. The other vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene.
Preliminary information suggests Allen-Winchester was southbound on Cave Creek Road when he crashed into the vehicle that was traveling westbound on Cave Creek Road from one private drive to another, police said.
Police said all other details about what led up to the crash will be determined through the accident reconstruction process. The police did not release the identity of the person driving the vehicle.
