Four officers opened fire just minutes after the armed suspect went inside the bank and demanded cash.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Police released the identity of man who was shot and killed by officers after he robbed a bank in Scottsdale Saturday morning.

On Sunday, police identified the suspect as 51-year-old Stephen Charles Arthur.

Officers responded to a bank robbery call at Comerica Bank near Scottsdale and McDowell roads shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday. They located the suspect near McKellips and Scottsdale roads.

The shooting happened just minutes after the man went inside the bank, approached the teller, displayed a gun and demanded cash, police said. The teller gave him the money and the man left the bank.

According to Scottsdale police, Arthur had no violent criminal history but he did have a past DUI arrest and current arrest warrants for failure to appear.
