A suspect of a series of armed robberies has been arrested and booked into jail on 18 counts of armed robbery.
Phoenix Police said 23-year-old Christian Contreras is the suspect who was arrested after a weeks-long investigation of armed robberies between February 6 and February 26.
Police said the suspect would enter a restaurant, pose as a customer and when the employee opened the register, he would get out a handgun, jump over the counter and seal the money before fleeing the scene.
Detectives interviewed witnesses, collected evidence and work with other law enforcement agencies to identify the suspect, according to Phoenix PD.
