Police arrested a man they said shot and killed another man Friday night in a car at Scottsdale and McKellips roads in Tempe.
Lt. Michael Pooley said detectives arrested 23-year-old Jose Bojorquez on Saturday morning. He was and booked into jail on a count of second-degree murder.
According to police, Bojorquez was in the passenger seat when he shot and killed Adrian Salazar, who was driving.
According to authorities, when police arrived at the scene of the death, they found Salazar dead in the driver's seat and his passenger -- later identified as Bojorquez -- extremely upset.
The car Salazar was driving struck another vehicle after he was shot, authorities said. The other car had minor rear-end damage and no one inside was seriously injured.
According to Pooley, detectives are continuing to investigate what led up to Bojorquez shooting Salazar. Currently, the motive is unknown.
