Skating Spectacular to Feature Figure Skating 2016 World Silver Medalist Ashley Wagner and 2016 Men's US National Champion Adam Rippon.
For its annual spring ice show, AZ Ice Peoria will go down the rabbit hole with, “A Tribute to Alice in Wonderland on Ice.” This theater-quality production of the classic tale will feature special guest skaters, Ashley Wagner and Adam Rippon, both US National Champion figure skaters. The rink invites adults and kids alike from across the Valley to beat the heat with this one-day-only show, playing May 14.
AZ Ice Peoria’s most elite skaters and Skating Academy students join together for this all-star cast, performing numerous group numbers that guests are sure to know and love. Additionally, Wagner and Rippon – both who competed for World Titles last week, Wagner walked away with a silver medal – will be opening and closing the show with exhibition numbers in their performance repertoire for the “2016 Stars on Ice Tour.”
“From the talent, to the music, the choreography and the costumes, we are going all out this year,” said show Producer, Kelsy Anderson. Both Anderson and Jim Rogers, AZ Ice facility owner are excited to showcase such elite talent to the community and to local skaters. “While we know the general public will be impressed with Ashley Wagner’s and Adam Rippon's talent, bringing in world competitors also inspires our skaters,” said Rogers. “They don't get to see this level of skating every day. It's a real treat for our skaters to see what can happen if they train and work their hardest.”
Tickets for “A Tribute to Alice in Wonderland on Ice” are on sale now. Guests can purchase tickets by calling 623-334-1200 or by visiting Guest Services at the AZ Ice Peoria facility (15829 N. 83rd Ave, Peoria, AZ 85382). Prices are $20 each for on-ice seating and $15 each for bleacher seating. Both are first come, first serve.
