Motorcyclist who was hit, killed has been identified following San Tan Valley crash

The driver of the pickup truck which hit the motorcyclist was arrested and a warrant was issued for a blood draw, authorities say.

SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. — The motorcyclist who died following a crash in San Tan Valley has been identified, authorities said. 

The Pinal County Regional Vehicular Crimes Task Force is investigating the crash that occurred near Gary Road and Silver Streak Way on Saturday evening. 

A pickup truck was turning left from Gary Road to Silver Streak Way and crossed in front of the motorcycle, driven by 37-year-old Sarah Farmer-Herrera, which was traveling south on Gary. Farmer-Hererra died at the scene, police said.

Authorities said the driver of the truck was arrested and a warrant was issued for a blood draw. The driver was then released pending the blood test results, authorities said.

The identity the truck driver was not released.
