PHOENIX — A man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a female employee of a restaurant in central Phoenix on Saturday, police said.
Phoenix police officers responded to the area of Central Avenue and McDowell Road regarding a fight inside a nearby restaurant. When officers arrived at the scene, a man was assaulting a female employee of the business, police said.
Officers engaged with the man and the man assaulted officers as well, police said. Less lethal tools were used to ultimately arrest the man, according to police.
The employee was treated at the scene by the fire department. One officer suffered an injury and was treated at a local hospital, police said. The suspect was also transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Once the suspect is released, police said he will booked on multiple charges related to the incident.
The police did not release the name of the suspect, the employee or the officer who was injured. Police did not release any other details regarding what led up to the incident.
