PHOENIX — This week, we're in store for round two of excessive heat. Excessive Heat Warnings are posted for most of Arizona, with dangerously hot conditions expected.
It's the time of year when you'll often hear seemingly common-sense reminders; these reminders include: look before you lock, check on your neighbors, stay hydrated, make sure pets are cool and hydrated, limit time outside, take frequent breaks if you work outside, and drink water before you feel thirsty.

Life can get pretty crazy, so sometimes we don't think clearly. That's why these are always excellent reminders.
Arizona's summer heat is intense, and we are just getting started. July is the hottest month of the year when Phoenix Metro's average high soars to 106.5 degrees. In September, the Valley's average high returns to 100 degrees. The end of October, around Halloween, is typically when we back off from the scorching heat of the year.
