ASU signs 4-star wide receiver Terrell Chatman

ASU added a 23rd name to its recruiting class Monday. It's wide receiver Terrell Chatman.
Terrell Chatman, a 4-star wide receiver, signed by ASU, Feb. 9, 2015.

ASU received national kudos last Wednesday for its haul on letter-of-intent signing day. Todd Graham and his Devils signed a top-20 recruiting class, according to the major scouting services.

But two things about that class were missing. One, the Devils filled only 22 of their allotted 25 scholarships. And two, they failed to sign a wide receiver.

Until, that is, Monday, when ASU added a 23rd name to its recruiting class. It's wide receiver Terrell Chatman.

Chatman is a 4-star standout from Louisiana who had originally committed to Miami. However, he changed his mind, narrowing his choices to ASU and TCU. Chatman did some thinking over the weekend before giving Todd Graham a call to say he was coming to Tempe.

Chatman has impressive hands, stands 6'4" and weighs 190 pounds. He will be looked upon to provide an immediate impact given the departure of star wideout Jaelen Strong to the NFL.

This is a huge signing for ASU, not only because it fills a big need, but because it furthers the ASU brand east of the Mississippi.

Chatman is the fifth player ASU has signed in this class that hails from back East. This is uncharted territory for ASU and figures to impact them greatly going forward.
