YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. — A Yavapai County Sheriff's Office deputy died early Wednesday morning, the sheriff's office said.
Deputy Jesse Hubble died of natural causes in his home on May 15 at the age of 47, the sheriff's office said in a news release. Hubble was first hired by YSCO in July 2017 and was assigned to the northern area of the county in January 2018, upon his graduation from training. He also served as a field training officer in 2021 for newly-hired deputies.
Before joining the YCSO, Hubble was a U.S. Navy veteran and received a Navy and Marine Corps medal for heroism in 2007 for rescuing a navy pilot whose helicopter crashed into the ocean. He was a committed volunteer for local youth sports and served as a coach.
"Deputy Hubble was not only well respected by his peers and outside law enforcement agencies, but by the communities in which he served," YCSO said in a news release. "He has been lauded by his superiors for his sound judgment in stressful situations, his calm and reserved demeanor, and his willingness to step up to assist in any capacity."
Hubble was given an award by the members of the American Legion Robert Fulton Post 57 of Ash Fork for his selfless commitment to the community.
Hubble is survived by his wife and two children.
“Deputy Jesse Hubble served this Nation and in YCSO with humility, honor and a servant’s heart,” said YCSO Sheriff David Rhodes in a statement. “His sacrifices will never be forgotten. Please join me and the entire Yavapai County Law Enforcement community in offering our condolences to his wife and children. Jesse Hubble - we thank you for your life of service to your Country and your community.”
YCSO will be holding a fundraiser for the family, according to the news release.
