PHOENIX — A woman was arrested this week after allegedly she spent the last six months stealing household appliances from retail stores across the Valley, court records show.

Mahogany Gaines, 27, is facing several criminal charges after she was connected to more than a dozen retail thefts at various Target, Kohl's and Costco stores.

Gaines is accused of using fraudulent documents to purchase a $15,000 car from a dealership and then using the vehicle to commit organized retail theft throughout the Phoenix area.

Court records show the suspect allegedly worked with teenage accomplices to steal blenders, mixers, vacuums, cookware and apparel over the course of several months.

Gaines allegedly told police she stole the items to resell the merchandise online and the suspect would earn 50% of the proceeds. The suspect was booked into the Maricopa County jail on July 16.
