GRAND CANYON VILLAGE, Ariz. — Water restrictions are in place for the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park after a water pipeline broke near North Kaibab Trail, park officials announced.
These conservation measures are taking effect immediately and will be in place until the pipeline is repaired.

The park announced the following mandatory water conservation measures:
- Use low water cleaning techniques and reduce toilet flushing to the minimum necessary.
- Turn water off while you shave or brush your teeth.
- Take shorter or less frequent showers.
- No washing cars, boats, bikes, or any outside vehicle.
- Utilize dry precleaning methods to scrape off food items before thoroughly washing dishes.
- Fill the sink with water while washing dishes to avoid running water.
- Report drips, leaks, or other water loss to appropriate offices.
Hikers are advised to carry extra water or bring methods to treat water. There is no water at the Manzanita Rest Area at this time.
