The child, who has not been identified, died at the scene, said authorities with the sheriff's department.
"The UTV failed to safely negotiate an embankment and subsequently rolled over," the sheriff's department said.
Authorities said the child was both unrestrained and not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The child's mother was also a passenger in the vehicle when the crash happened. She was unharmed.
The UTV driver remained at the scene following the crash.
The investigation into the crash remains active, according to authorities.
