4 teens arrested for violent robbery outside In-N-Out in Gilbert

The Aug. 18 assault is one of several cases police have been investigating in recent months involving violence committed against teens in the East Valley.

GILBERT, Ariz. — Three more teens were arrested Wednesday afternoon in connection with the alleged assault and robbery last August outside of an In-N-Out restaurant in Gilbert that resulted in the juvenile victim going to the hospital.

Aris Arredondo, 18, and two 16-year-olds face aggravated robbery and aggravated assault charges, according to the Gilbert Police Department. Charges on the two juveniles are being referred to the Maricopa County Juvenile Court.

A fourth teen, Christopher Fantastic, 18, was also taken into custody earlier for allegedly being involved in the violent incident.

The victim's father previously told 12News that his son was taken to the emergency room after the attack and he later decided to send his son overseas to live with his mother due to the dangerous situation.

During Fantastic's initial appearance in court, a representative for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office said the August incident was a planned attack and allegedly done in retaliation.

The prosecutor asked the judge to assign a $100,000 bond for Fantastic because they're "extremely concerned" about the safety of the community and the suspect's association with some sort of "group." Fantastic was given a $25,000 bond.

The August incident occurred a couple of months before 16-year-old Preston Lord sustained fatal injuries during a Halloween party in Queen Creek -- a case that has brought a spotlight on the prevalence of teen violence in the East Valley and the so-called "Gilbert Goons" group.

The Gilbert Police Department recently said it is now investigating at least eight incidents related to teen violence.

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell said Wednesday that Fantastic's arrest is unrelated to the Lord case.
