ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - A federal judge ruled Friday that the suspect accused of kidnapping and murdering an 11-year-old girl earlier this week on the Navajo Nation will stay in the custody of the U.S. Marshals.
KOB in Albuquerque reports the judge found probable cause that Tom Begaye, 27, should stay in federal custody after the suspect waived his preliminary hearing in federal court.
Begaye stands accused of kidnapping and murdering Ashlynne Mike, 11, after the girl was found dead on reservation land Tuesday.
She had last been seen Monday afternoon.
