COTTONWOOD, Ariz. — A small plane crashed into a yard in Cottonwood Sunday morning leaving the pilot hospitalized but in stable condition, Yavapai County Sheriff's Office officials said.
The plane crashed into a residential area on Spur Drive, sheriff's office authorities confirmed. No one else was on board the plane and, fortunately, no one on the ground was injured.
Authorities said that a detached car port and the plane were damaged, but the home wasn't struck.
The cause of the crash is currently unknown. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are handling the investigation.
The pilot's identity wasn't disclosed.
