Sheriff: Body found in burning shed in Mohave County

The body will be taken to the medical examiner for positive identification.

MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz. — Human remains have been recovered from the site of a fire reported Wednesday evening in Mohave County.

Deputies were dispatched to a property on La Cienega Ranch Road in the community of Yucca and found two sheds fully engulfed in flames, according to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office.

After the flames were extinguished, a dead body was found in one of the sheds.

MCSO said the property owner told investigators they had gotten into a verbal fight with their roommate earlier that evening. The roommate left the residence on foot and a few hours later the owner received a notification from their camera system that motion was detected near their shed, making them believe the roommate had returned to the property.

About 30 minutes later, the owner got another notification alerting them of the fire.

MCSO said no signs of foul play have been detected at this point in the investigation. The human remains will be taken to the medical examiner for an autopsy and positive identification.
