YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. — A Camp Verde woman is facing theft charges after she was recently connected to two fraud cases in Yavapai County.
The sheriff's office said Marylee Moore, 49, is suspected of defrauding $14,000 from an insulation contractor she had worked for in Cornville.
During the investigation into that case, YCSO connected Moore to a separate case from years earlier involving one of her former employers.
Moore had reportedly been fired from her position as store manager of Ernie's Smoke Shop in Camp Verde after she allegedly defrauded $307,000 from the business, the sheriff's office said.
“This type of crime is unacceptable, and I’m proud of our deputies and detectives who worked diligently to solve not only one case, but two," Sheriff David Rhodes said in a statement.
Moore is facing charges of fraud, theft, forgery and identity theft.
