MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz. — A teenage motorcyclist sustained serious injuries Saturday evening after he was struck by an alleged impaired driver near Lake Havasu City.

The Mohave County Sheriff's Office said Dennis Chiappetta, 73, of California was booked into jail after a breath test allegedly showed he had a blood alcohol content of 0.153 following a crash on London Bridge Road.

MCSO said Chiappetta was driving a vehicle when he made a turn and struck a motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction. A 16-year-old boy was ejected from the motorcycle.

The teenager was wearing a helmet and safety gear. The boy is now listed in stable condition, MCSO said.

The sheriff's office believes the suspect's impairment was the main contributing factor to the collision.
