Arizona's "second" dove hunting season gets underway this Friday.

The 45-day late season lasts through January 8. There is an earlier, shorter season in September.

And the Arizona Game and Fish Department is holding a special sale. Hunters can get a one-day combination hunting and fishing license for half price through Sunday.

The license is $7.50 for residents and $10 for non-residents. Youth hunters (10 to 17 years old) can purchase a license for $5 and children until 9 don't need one, as long as they are accompanied by a licensed adult.

Licenses can be purchased online, at licensed dealers, or at regional offices (which are closed on Thanksgiving but reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday).

For more details on possession limits, shooting hours and other rules and regulations, visit the AZGFD website.
