NAVAJO COUNTY, Ariz. — A suspect sustained non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday after they were reportedly shot at by law enforcement officials during a pursuit along Interstate 40.
The chase involving a semi-truck initially started in New Mexico before crossing over into Arizona along the I-40 route, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The pursuit ended near milepost 255 with an officer-involved shooting. A suspect has been taken to the hospital and no law enforcement officials were injured, DPS said.
DPS could not confirm yet which law enforcement agencies were involved in the actual shooting.
Mainline traffic along I-40 should not be restricted at this time but the incident remains under investigation.
