PCSO: 'Violent' suspect detained in East Valley after ramming patrol cars

Deputies did not sustain major injuries during Tuesday's pursuit.

MESA, Ariz. — A "violent" suspect has been detained after ramming patrol cars and leading deputies on a pursuit through the East Valley, according to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were searching for a domestic violence suspect Tuesday morning in San Tan Valley.

When the suspect was located in Mesa, a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The suspect allegedly rammed a PCSO patrol car and drove head-on into a second patrol car. A third patrol car was also damaged, PCSO said.

The chase later ended near the roundabout at State Route 88 and the suspect was taken into custody. PCSO has identified the suspect as 39-year-old Vincente Gallegos.

The PCSO deputies involved did not sustain major injuries, the sheriff's office said.
