MARICOPA, Ariz. — Over 33,000 people were without power in Maricopa after a massive outage in Electrical District No. 3. WAPA and APS were able to re-energize transformers and power has been restored.
At the outage's peak, 33,580 people were without power Tuesday morning according to an online outage map.

The district reported that a transmission outage was behind the issues. Shortly before 10:30 a.m., officials announced that the district had all transformers and feeders working on the distribution side.
Officials say they will provide more details as information becomes available.
