PHOENIX — The family of an East Valley father who was murdered earlier this year as he was driving home from Las Vegas is begging the public to come forward with information that might identify his killer.

Keith Henion, 50, was found by Arizona state troopers with a gunshot wound inside his vehicle, which was located in the left shoulder of the Loop 202 freeway at Alma School Road on Jan. 28, 2024. Henion's body was found at about 12:45 a.m. but investigators are still not sure when or where he was shot.

Furthermore, investigators can't say why someone would want to shoot the father of two.

Henion's family described him as a "model American" who adored his family and believed in serving his community.

His family said Henion was coming home that evening from finishing preparation work for the upcoming Super Bowl in Las Vegas. The perpetrator shot Henion from outside of the victim's vehicle.
