Missing Prescott woman's body found buried about 10 miles from her home

YCSO arrested her ex-husband, 55-year-old David Pagniano, Wednesday on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Yavapai County Sheriff's officials said Friday that they'd located the body of Sandra Pagniano, who had been missing since Sunday.

The 39-year-old's body was found buried about 10 miles northwest of her home. The sheriff's office and a group of volunteers had been searching for her since she was reported missing.

According to YCSO, a member of the Yavapai County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team noticed man-made tool marks during a grid search and deployed a cadaver trained detection K9 over to the site and detectives examined the soil.

YCSO said its crews began slowly digging until the victim's body was found around noon Friday.

Soil and sand around her body was carefully removed and sifted for evidence, YCSO said. The Medical Examiner has not reported the cause of death yet.

YCSO arrested her ex-husband, 55-year-old David Pagniano, Wednesday on suspicion of second-degree murder. He was booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center on $2 million bond.
