How to help people, animals impacted by Tenderfoot Fire

As the Tenderfoot Fire continues to burn in Yarnell, many are wondering how they can help the people and animals impacted by the blaze.

YARNELL, Ariz. - As the Tenderfoot Fire continues to burn in Yarnell, many are wondering how they can help the people and animals impacted by the blaze.

The American Red Cross has opened an evacuation center at Yavapai College at 1100 East Sheldon Street for Yarnell residents who have been evacuated because of the Tenderfoot Fire.

If you want to assist those affected by the Tenderfoot Fire, here are some ways you can help:

Through the American Red Cross

Before driving up to assist and volunteer in person, the Northern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross recommends contacting the organization online or by phone at 1-800-redcross. They will let those interested in helping if there's an immediate need for volunteers.

Donations are also accepted.

Donate pet food

Many animals have also been displaced because of the Tenderfoot Fire and the animal shelter in Yarnell is asking for donations of dog food and cat food to help. You can drop off pet food at Yavapai County Community College in Prescott.
