An Embry Riddle Aeronautical University student died Tuesday morning after she was involved in a car crash that involved multiple vehicles.

Khrystyna Gavryushenko, 19, was driving a Mazda Sedan northbound on Willow Creek Road in Prescott when she collided with a Volkswagen Jetta traveling in the adjacent lane in the same direction. Both vehicles then entered the southbound lanes of traffic and Gavryushenko's vehicle then collided head on with a white Honda Sedan. Gavryushenko's vehicle was then hit on the driver's side by a Chevy pick-up truck. Drivers of both cars that collided with her were transported to nearby hospitals, one with serious injuries, the other with non-life threatening injuries. Their conditions are unknown.

Gavryushenko was pronounced dead on scene after she sustained major injuries during the collisions.

Willow Creek Road was closed in both directions following the crash. The crash is under investigation.

Embry Riddle released a statement regarding the loss of the student saying that counseling was available on campus for students. It also said that the school is in the process of planning an on-campus memorial service.
