CORDES LAKES, Ariz. — A dump truck went down a steep embankment Tuesday afternoon and ended up hanging over a culvert off of Interstate 17, officials said.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said a portion of the highway has been closed as officials respond to the scene. The truck's driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries, DPS said.
The truck apparently veered about 300 feet down the embankment, DPS said. It is not clear what caused the truck to crash.
Sky12 footage shows the highway's guardrail sustained damage near where the crash occurred.
The incident was reported north of Cordes Lake near where I-17 intersects with State Route 169.
