DUDLEYVILLE, Ariz. - The Roach Fire, burning five miles north of the Town of Kerny, has destroyed approximately 14 structures in the Town of Dudleyville.
Three of the structures destroyed were homes that were evacuated at the time of the fire, which has grown to 1,200 acres as of Saturday evening, according to state forestry officials.
The evacuation order for the Town of Dudleyville will be lifted Sunday at 6:30 p.m., Pinal County officials said. About 100 people have been impacted by evacuations, according to Forest Service officials.
Southwest Gas will be working Sunday evening and Monday to restart service to homes in Dudleyville. Crews will be active until 9 p.m. on Sunday and begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, a Southwest Gas representative said.
San Carlos Irrigation Project has restored electrical services.
The Pinal County Sheriff's Department provided grief counselors and a chaplain to help those affected by the evacuation and fire.
The cause of the fire, which crews said started July 7 around 8:30 p.m., is currently unknown.
Two firefighters have suffered minor injuries – one from the heat and one from a scorpion bite.
