WICKENBURG, Ariz. — A motorist died Tuesday night after attempting to pass a semi truck on US 93 north of Wickenburg, officials said.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said a sedan was traveling southbound on US 93 near milepost 166 when the driver moved into the northbound lane to pass a semi truck.
The sedan then hit another semi truck traveling in the northbound lane and deflected into the first semi truck. DPS said the driver of the sedan died at the scene and no other injuries were reported.
Officials did not release the driver's identity as of Wednesday morning.

One of the largest park systems in the nation is also located in Maricopa County. The county has an estimated 120,000 acres of open space parks that includes hundreds of miles of trails, nature centers and campgrounds.
The county’s seat is located in Phoenix, which is also the state capital and the census-designated 5th most populous city in the United States.
The county was named after the Maricopa, or Piipaash, Native American Tribe.
