PHOENIX — State forestry officials announced Monday that they've created a mobile phone app that will alert users of fires in the area.
The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management says the app will send push notifications to alert users of nearby fires, traffic restrictions and even forest health concerns.
According to a news release, users can also use the app to get questions answered, submit tips and photos, as well as connect to the forest agency's social media pages.
Along with information and updates of current wildfires, fire prevention tips and Office of the State Fire Marshal’s plans and payment portal will also be found on the app, the release says.
The app is free to download and can be found in the Apple App Store for iOS users and Google Play for Android users by searching, "Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management."
