Dog connected to fatal attack in Yuma found dead on interstate

A 59-year-old man died after being attacked by the dog, officials said.

WELLTON, Ariz. — The vicious dog in the Wellton area that attacked a man is now dead, law enforcement officials in Yuma County said. 

Yuma County Sheriff's Office officials said they responded to a report of a deceased man on S. Avenue 33E near Interstate 8 at 8:30 a.m. Friday. An investigation revealed the man was attacked by a dog the night before and sustained fatal injuries, officials said. 

The dog was found dead after it ran into traffic on Interstate 8, officials said.
