The beauty of Sedona stretches as far as the eye can see. But many believe there's far more to those red rocks than breathtaking views.
Sedona is said to be a place of enlightenment, of energy and even of healing. It also happens to be a place where a certain rapper and worldwide superstar went to overcome an addiction to his phone.
In an interview with GQ, Diddy (or P Diddy, or Brother Love, or just Love) opened up about the murder of friend The Notorious B.I.G. (Biggie Smalls), and how he had become depressed two and a half years ago.
According to the article, the depressed and phone-addicted Diddy felt like he was "far away from God." So, he took a trip to Arizona to, it appears, rediscover what made him one of the richest and most successful men in hip hop.
"Beneath the endless beauty beats a healing heart," a post on the Visit Sedona website reads. "Sedona has long been regarded as a place both sacred and powerful. It is a cathedral without walls. It is Stonehenge not yet assembled."
They're talking about the Sedona vortexes, said to be places of immense energy allowing for healing, meditation and self-exploration.
"These are places where the earth seems especially alive with energy," the website writes. "Many people feel inspired, recharged or uplifted after visiting a vortex."
When asked if the vortexes were the reason for his trip to Sedona, author John Jeremiah Sullivan writes that Diddy, with a smile, said "Exactly."
Among the red rocks and powerful energy of the vortexes, Sullivan writes Diddy "reconnected with his magic" and was "hearing new songs in his head."
Thanks to Sedona, Diddy was apparently back to being Diddy again.
