Convicted Phoenix murderer dies in Nevada prison

ELY, Nev. - The convicted killer in the 2001 murder of Jasen Greene in Phoenix was found dead in his cell at a Nevada state prison from an apparent suicide Saturday, the Nevada Department of Corrections said.

Scott Dozier, 48, was sentenced to death in Nevada for first degree murder in 2007 after being accused of killing 22-year-old Jeremiah Miller, who was decapitated and dismembered in Las Vegas in 2002.

Dozier was also convicted in 2001 for killing 26-year-old Jasen Greene in Phoenix after his body was found dismembered and buried in the desert.

According to the Nevada DOC, correctional officers found Dozier hanging from a bed sheet tied to an air vent in his cell at Ely State Prison Saturday afternoon.

His death in under investigation and an autopsy is pending.

Per the Arizona Republic, Dozier's execution was delayed twice and he just wanted it to be carried out. But, he still denied the murders.
