COCONINO COUNTY, Ariz. — A Colorado man was recently found deceased during a days-long trip along the Colorado River.
Patrick Horton, 59, was found dead by members of his party on the 10th day of a non-commercial trip down the river, according to Grand Canyon National Park. His death was reported on the morning of Sept. 7 near river mile 137 along the Colorado River.
The Coconino County Medical Examiner's Office and the National Park Service are investigating Horton's death. Officials did not disclose whether it is known how he died.

The county was named after the Maricopa, or Piipaash, Native American Tribe.
