24-year-old from Chino Valley killed in motorcycle crash

The crash happened late Wednesday night and Chino Valley police believe that alcohol was involved.

CHINO VALLEY, Ariz. — A motorcyclist was killed and a second rider is in the hospital after a late-night crash in Chino Valley, city police said.

Officers found that the motorcycle had driven off the roadway and struck a tree near East Road 1 North and Belmont Way around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police said.

Two young men were found near the scene of the crash. 24-year-old Joshua Edwards of Chino Valley was pronounced dead on the scene. A 22-year-old, also from Chino Valley, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities didn't say who was driving the motorcycle at the time of the crash.

The investigation is still underway, but police believe that alcohol played a part in the crash.
