TUCSON, Ariz. — A high-speed pursuit near the SR86 Checkpoint near Three Points left a Border Patrol agent injured and two suspects apprehended.

At around 8 a.m., the Tohono O'odham Police Department pursued a vehicle near the SR86 Checkpoint.

The chase escalated when the fleeing driver struck a Border Patrol agent, causing non-life-threatening injuries.

The agent was airlifted to a hospital in Tucson for medical treatment.

Our News 4 Tucson crew says the law enforcement was focused on two cars near an auto center. The attention zeroed in on a silver car.

Soon after authorities cleared the vehicle, Customs and Border Protection successfully apprehended one suspect at the scene, placing him in a patrol car.

A witness, off-camera, told us that the apprehended suspect was seen running from the direction of the auto center into the Food City parking lot.

Police caught the suspect near a Jack in the Box.

The FBI told News 4 Tucson they are actively searching for a third suspect in the incident.
