Baby dies after stroller hit by car in Arizona, driver arrested

The driver is facing charges of manslaughter and aggravated DUI, officials say.

TUCSON, Ariz. — An 11-month-old infant has died after a baby stroller was hit by a car Tuesday night near Tucson.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department said the baby was being pushed in a stroller by an adult near Ruthrauff Road and Kain Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. As they were crossing along Ruthrauff Road, an oncoming car struck them. 

The infant was taken to the hospital and passed away. The 34-year-old adult sustained minor injuries.

The sheriff's department said the driver, identified as 32-year-old Colton Ortiz, was arrested and is facing charges of manslaughter, aggravated DUI, and aggravated assault.
