Here's what went into creating Arizona's new logo

The logo features several state symbols including the sun, a Saguaro, a hummingbird and a ponderosa pine.

PHOENIX — Arizona is rebranding.

The Arizona Office of Tourism revealed its new logo Friday which features several state symbols including the sun, a Saguaro, a hummingbird and a ponderosa pine.

The logo features a pattern created by a Hopi artist that represents Arizona's 22 tribal nations.

To create the logo, the state took inspiration from actual Arizonans, asking residents across the state what they thought makes Arizona special.

"All over, we traversed and listened to Arizonans and they gave us so many beautiful things and much of it resonated across the board: The majestic beauty of the state, the diversity of the state," Executive Deputy Director of the Arizona Office of Tourism Lisa Urias said.

Nearly 2,000 Arizonans helped create the new brand.
