An assistant track coach at the University of Arizona is on administrative leave with pay after being arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.

Campus police say throws coach Craig Carter was booked last Friday into the Pima County Jail.

The Arizona Daily Star reports Carter is accused of three charges related to domestic violence - aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, threats and intimidation with injury and damage and stalking with fear of physical injury or death upon another.

Carter remains held on a $40,000 bond. It was unclear Tuesday if he has a lawyer.

Police won't disclose the circumstances of Carter's arrest.

University spokesman Chris Sigurdson says the school is assisting fully with the police investigation.

Carter has been a throws coach at Arizona since 2006.
