An annual audit by the Anti-Defamation League found anti-Semitic incidents in Arizona increased by nearly 25 percent in 2018.
According to the ADL's data released Tuesday, the Jewish community in Arizona experienced 32 anti-Semitic incidents in 2018 compared to 26 in 2017. The number of incidents increased for the third straight year.
ADL says 37% of the total incidents in 2018 occurred in the final three months of the year and of all the incidents reported, 13 included the use of a swastika.
"In December alone, there were six swastika incidents leading up to Hannukah," ADL said in a release.
The release from the ADL detailing the audit's findings said the anti-Semitic incidents are broken down into three categories: assault, harassment and vandalism.
In 2018, the data shows 20 incidents of anti-Semitic harassment were reported and 12 incidents of anti-Semitic vandalism were recorded. Zero incidents of assault were reported in 2018, according to the ADL.
The ADL says 21% of the total incidents reported in 2018 occurred at Arizona schools.
The ADL H.E.A.T. Map, which details extremist and anti-Semitic incident around the country, shows there were also 25 incidents of white supremacist propaganda and two white supremacist events reported in Arizona in 2018.
ADL said 2018 marked the third-highest year for anti-Semitic incidents across the country since the organization began tracking this kind of data in the 1970s.
