Havasu Falls is one of the most beautiful and exclusive places in Arizona.
You need a permit that you can only apply for on February 1 of every year. The trailhead is about four and a half hours north of Phoenix.
After parking, you descend into the Grand Canyon, weaving in and out of the monstrous and amazing rock.
You can order a pack mule to take your stuff eight miles into the town of Supai or take a helicopter, but the walk is a memorable part of the experience.
In the town, you grab your permit and head to the campground about two miles away.
Along the way, you pass Rock Falls, Navajo Falls and Havasu Falls before finding your spot for the night.
A little bit further down the trail is Mooney Falls, which is a treacherous climb down ladders not fully secure with slippery chains wet from the waterfall’s mist.
If you have time, continue eight miles onto Beaver Falls.
The permits are hard to come by so if you get the chance to go… GO!
