2 Valley residents found dead at campground in northern Arizona

The individuals were found unresponsive Monday afternoon inside a vehicle.

COCONINO COUNTY, Ariz. — A death investigation is underway after two bodies were found Monday afternoon at a campground in northern Arizona.

The Coconino County Sheriff's Office said two people were found unresponsive outside of their vehicle located south of Stoneman Lake Road. The Mormon Lake Fire Department and responding deputies determined the individuals died of gunshot wounds.

No suspects are being sought at this time.

The sheriff's office said the two deceased individuals were adult family members from the Phoenix Metro area. Their names were not disclosed.

CCSO said there are currently no "community safety concerns" concerning the death investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
