2 arrested in Lake Havasu City after a half pound of meth discovered by police

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. — Two people have been arrested after police found approximately a half pound of methamphetamine during a house search in Lake Havasu City, police said. 

Lake Havasu City Police Department's Special Investigations Unit served a search warrant on a home near Palo Verde Boulevard and State Route 95 on March 27, officials added. 

While executing the search warrant, half a pound of meth was found. Police said officers also found illegal drugs and paraphernalia within the reach of a young child at the home.

The two people arrested due to the search warrant are Alberto Vazquez, 42, and Tiffany Ayala, 40. They are facing charges of possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia and child abuse. 

Both people were held on $50,000 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff's Office.
