Gila County confirms first COVID-19 case

There are now positive cases reported in all but one Arizona county.

PAYSON, Ariz. — Gila County confirmed its first confirmed case of COVID-19 Friday.

Health officials said a woman in her 40s who lives in Payson tested positive. Her illness appears to be travel-related. 

The woman has been isolated since showing symptoms, the county health department said. 

There are now coronavirus cases in all but one Arizona county. 

There were 666 COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths in Arizona as of Friday.

  • Coconino: 41
  • Navajo: 49
  • Apache: 11
  • Mohave: 4
  • La Paz: 2
  • Yuma: 4
  • Graham: 4

  • Yavapai: 9
  • Gila: 1
