PHOENIX — Arizona will begin a huge COVID-19 testing effort on Saturday.
The so-called Arizona Testing Blitz aims to test 10,000 to 20,000 people for COVID-19 every Saturday for three consecutive weeks.
The first testing blitz happened on Saturday, May 2, and the initiative will continue on May 9 and 16.
The testing expansion effort will include drive-thru or onsite testing at various locations across the state.
Arizonans will be able to find locations, hours of operation and pre-register at azhealth.gov/TestingBlitz.
Testing will be available for anyone who believes they may have been exposed to or infected with COVID-19. Each testing site will have its own criteria for testing.

“We know that rapidly identifying cases, conducting case follow-up, and performing contact tracing will help slow the transmission of COVID-19 in our communities,” said Dr. Cara Christ, ADHS director.
