PHOENIX — It's not a green light to speed but a green light to proceed.
Gov. Doug Ducey announced that Arizona’s stay at home order will expire on Friday.
Gyms can reopen as soon as Wednesday with restrictions. But some, like LA Fitness and Planet Fitness, will remain closed.
Many people have been waiting for gyms to open back up and now that is going to happen.
Some gym employees that 12 News spoke to explained how facilities plan to keep all of their guests safe when the doors reopen.
"Can you imagine your favorite Christmas in your life where you wanted that one toy and you got it," Tom Hatten with Mountainside Fitness said.
Hatten, the C.E.O. of Mountainside says, even with the green light from the governor, they're using the next several days to ensure the safety of both the staff and those looking to sweat.
"A lot more intensity with cleaning and taking temperatures of all our employees before shifts," he added.
While things may look different, don't be fooled, facilities will offer the same services with added safety measures, Hatten says.
"We're going to be able to do everything we did do, we are going to be practicing social distancing like the governor mandated," he said.
