Gilbert PD looking for person pulled over by possible police impersonator

Gilbert police released a video of the cars pulling over, saying the vehicle bears similarities to the one used by a man accused of impersonating a Mesa police officer on the US-60.

GILBERT, Ariz. — Investigators are looking for a person stopped by someone believed to be impersonating a Gilbert police officer earlier this month.

Gilbert police released a video on the department's Facebook page of the stop that happened Wednesday, May 8, near Power and Ray roads.

Police said they are trying to determine whether the person impersonating an officer in the video is the same person arrested on suspicion of impersonating a Mesa police officer on US-60 the day after the Gilbert stop in the video. They said the vehicle in the video has similar characteristics to the one used by the suspect.
